Kochani,

Kto chciałby pójść na badania
i usłyszeć, że jest chory na raka?
A jednak wczesne wykrycie tej choroby
może zapobiec o wiele większym
problemom.
Podobnie jest w sferze ducha.
Wczesne obnażenie „raka”
może nas i naszych bliskich
ochronić przed
jeszcze większym koszmarem.
Tak było w przypadku Dawida.

Był on wówczas „po swym upadku z Batszebą
i po spotkaniu z prorokiem Natanem.”

Wtedy właśnie powstała jedna z najbardziej
wnikliwych modlitw Biblii,
zaczynająca się od słów:

„Zmiłuj się nade mną, Boże,
stosownie do swojej łaski;
W swojej wielkiej litości
wymaż moje przestępstwa!” (Ps 51:2-3).

Nie ma ludzi doskonałych.
Jest Bóg
doskonały w swej łasce.

Which one of us would like to go
to the doctor only to find out
he — or she — has cancer?
And yet this disease discovered
and treated early
may prevent even bigger problems.

It is similar in the realm of the spirit.
Spiritual cancers
early discovered and treated
may safe us, and others,
from even bigger nightmares.
So it was in the case of David.
It was after

”Nathan the prophet went to him,
and after he had gone in to Bathsheba”

that he wrote one of the most insightful
prayers of the Bible.
It starts with words:

”Have mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy
blot out my transgressions.
Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity,
and cleanse me from my sin!” (Psalm 51:1-2).

While there are no perfect people,
There is God
perfect in His grace.
